This initiative demonstrates how professional associations can mobilize resources to address critical educational gaps. By fostering partnerships between industry leaders and nonprofits, AACM not only provides immediate relief to families in need but also reinforces the vital role community managers play in driving positive, long-term social impact.
The Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM) successfully concluded its 2026 Backpack & School Supply Drive, a charitable initiative designed to equip local students for academic success. Chaired by Tom Emele, the AACM Outreach Committee spearheaded this effort, collecting essential educational supplies and backpacks from June 10 through June 24. These contributions directly support Backpacks 4 Kids AZ, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting families facing financial hardship throughout the Valley.
By leveraging a network of member management companies, AACM established convenient collection sites that streamlined the donation process for participants across the region. Following the drive, committee volunteers dedicated their time to sorting and organizing the supplies, ensuring efficient distribution for the nonprofit. This collaborative effort ensures that thousands of children in the Phoenix area can enter their classrooms with the confidence and tools necessary to excel during the upcoming school year.
Michele Tallberg, Director of Backpacks 4 Kids AZ, expressed deep gratitude for the partnership, highlighting the critical role industry support plays in meeting the needs of local students. This successful initiative underscores the community association industry's unwavering commitment to social responsibility and its ongoing dedication to strengthening the communities it serves through impactful, grassroots philanthropy and meaningful professional advocacy.
