This partnership addresses the urgent global need for scalable, carbon-free energy to power AI data centers. By integrating Hyundai’s world-class engineering with ARC’s proven reactor design, the collaboration bridges the gap between innovative nuclear technology and large-scale industrial deployment, setting a new benchmark for the future of clean energy infrastructure.
ARC Clean Technology and Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. have officially entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate the global deployment of the ARC-100. This advanced sodium-cooled small modular reactor is designed to provide reliable, carbon-free energy, specifically targeting the surging power requirements of industrial users and AI-driven data centers. By combining ARC’s innovative reactor technology with Hyundai Engineering’s global expertise, the partnership aims to strengthen the nuclear supply chain and streamline project delivery.
The collaboration focuses on two primary objectives: supporting the inaugural U.S. deployment of the ARC-100 at Idaho National Laboratory and facilitating the finalization of the design for regulatory approval. By leveraging the Korean nuclear supply chain, the partners intend to enhance the efficiency and scalability of this 100-megawatt reactor system. This effort is currently positioned to meet the rigorous standards set by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission under 10 CFR Part 53.
As demand for firm, dispatchable clean energy reaches record highs, this partnership represents a critical step in scaling advanced nuclear infrastructure. Both companies are committed to proving the viability of fourth-generation reactor technology, ensuring that critical energy infrastructure can meet modern environmental and operational demands. This agreement solidifies a long-term commitment to delivering economical, safe, and sustainable power solutions globally.
