Handel's Ice Cream, the beloved brand renowned for its premium, handcrafted treats since 1945, is thrilled to announce its grand opening in San Diego's vibrant Little Italy. Situated at 2100 Kettner Blvd, the new scoop shop officially debuts on Thursday, June 11. To celebrate, the first 50 customers in line starting at 11:00 a.m. will receive Free Ice Cream for a Year, with additional exciting giveaways and promotions throughout the day.
This marks the sixth Handel's location in greater San Diego for local residents and experienced multi-unit franchise operators Joshua and Dianna Barton, joined by Sam Nord. Joshua Barton shared, 'We love the ice cream; the quality, portion size, and value are unmatched. Handel's has maintained its tradition since 1945, making everything fresh in small batches daily.' Sam Nord, a brand veteran from Handel's Ohio origins, ensures authentic quality for the community.
The new 1,383-square-foot walk-up location will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., offering 48 rotating signature flavors. Guests can also enjoy convenient pickup and delivery via DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates, alongside catering options. The ownership team's deep community ties are evident through their active support of local schools and organizations, embodying Handel's commitment to craftsmanship and generosity.
