Inland Northwest Youth Discover Disc Golf Joy at Free Championship Sponsored by Mad Tree

Over 100 enthusiastic young disc golfers, aged 4 to 18, recently converged at Farragut State Park for the highly successful Inland Northwest Junior Disc Golf Championship. This complimentary, youth-focused tournament, held at northern Idaho’s renowned disc golf destination, aimed to introduce and inspire the sport's next generation. Participants competed across challenging layouts, with many experiencing their first competitive tournament, all made possible by the dedicated support of title sponsor Mad Tree Foundation.

The championship was meticulously designed to ensure accessibility and a positive experience for all skill levels. Thanks to generous donors and sponsors, including Mad Tree Foundation, participation, lunch, clinics, and comprehensive player packs were offered entirely free of charge. This commitment successfully removed financial barriers, enabling more youth to engage in sportsmanship, healthy outdoor activity, and community building. Tournament Director Andy Parkison emphasized, "We want every child to have the opportunity to discover disc golf, build confidence, make friends, and enjoy healthy outdoor recreation regardless of their financial circumstances or experience level."

Volunteers, including experienced disc golfers, accompanied every group, providing essential guidance, scoring assistance, and fostering an encouraging atmosphere.
