The study, published in the World Journal of Pediatrics, analyzed 397 young people in New Zealand's Whānau Pakari program. While many achieved lower BMI scores, spring entrants uniquely did not experience significant decreases. Researchers attribute this to their initial six months often coinciding with the long summer school holiday, a period known for reduced routine and weaker program engagement.
These findings emphasize that timing shapes treatment success.
